1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
1 cup cooked ham
1 (10 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables
1 (10 ounce) can tomato juice concentrate
1 cup distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add spinach and cook for 1 minute; remove from heat. Add ham and mix briefly.
Mix mixed vegetables and tomato juice concentrate. Mix vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, oregano, lemon juice, garlic salt, basil, rosemary, sage and dill weed into spinach mixture.
Bring sauce to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 2 minutes.
Good quality cake, but it can be made into loaves. Definitely using butter instead of oil when cooking.
Five stars! I<m rating this five because I didn't have garlic powder, but followed the recipe as is. Only because I am lactose intolerant do I use milli-grain bread. Only because I have a tight diet does the bread need to be alittle looser. If I had more garlic in my life, I'd give this 5 stars instead of unrating it. This recipe is sweet. It wasn't too sweet. And it wasn't too dry. I could see going up to six stars with real gusto. I just didn't have garlic powder.
