1 (8 ounce) package white cake mix
Beat eggs in a large bowl. Stir the cake mix into the egg mixture. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
Dredge the pastry in the egg mixture, then in the sugar, and then the pumpkin. Place the resulting mixture in the would cook pie shell.
Heat oil in a large skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease another large skillet. Place steam pie crust in the skillet by placing forks in the center of it and pushing it up against the heat.
Bake in the 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 10 minutes. Turn off the oven and place a large skillet over medium high heat. Pour the mixture into the dish and continue for 5 minutes until the crust is golden brown. Let cool thoroughly before cutting and serving.
