1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/4 cups shortening
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, stir together the chocolate chips, shortening and confectioners' sugar. Stir in 1/4 cup of butter, egg and vanilla extract. Sift together the flour and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together 1/4 cup of butter and 1/2 cup of sugar until soft peaks form. Beat in the rest of the melted chocolate and flour mixture. Stir in the raisins, walnuts and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Drop dough into pan.
Bake for 12-15 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool 10 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
