Italian Antipasto Recipe

Ingredients

2 orange slices, pitted and bruised 1 large tomato, seeded and sliced

1 large cucumber, sliced

1 large onion, sliced

3 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 tablespoons honey

2 1/2 tablespoons white sugar

3 tablespoons orange juice

1/2 cup lemon juice

2 tablespoons lemon zest

1 large zucchini, peeled

1 stalk celery, sliced

1 lemon, juiced

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

3 tablespoons butter, divided

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions

In a medium bowl, mix the orange slices, tomato, cucumber, onion, and vanilla and mix them until evenly coated. Stir in sauce ingredients and pour mixture over dogs or other large pieces of meat.

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the lemon juice and lemon zest and mix thoroughly. Then add the white sugar, orange juice, lemon juice, lemon rind, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Bring these to a boil. Reduce heat to low; boil for about 20 minutes.

Stir bread into the tomato mixture and add the nectar and lemon rind. Pour into a salad glass. Add lemon rind to the tomato sauce; garnish with lemon slices.

Refrigerate chilled dogs in a fridge airtight container until serving, if desired.
