Grandma's Chicken Pita Recipe

2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into chunks

1 (10 ounce) container sour cream

2 teaspoons packed brown sugar

1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 1/2 cups diced celery

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 block or strip Bacon - cut into 1 inch cubes

1/8 cup chopped onion

1 (13 ounce) can sliced mushrooms

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

I changed this up a bit, just because I was out of bread, but otherwise followed the recipe. The breaded chicken is replaced with a mixture of breadcrumbs and a scoop of very hot ground beef. The potatoes are washed and dried, then seared and deep fried. The beef is then placed on a bed of lettuce and tomato salsa, and placed on a bed of melted cheese. Finally, the chicken is placed back in the pan and cooked for another 15 minutes. The potatoes and the beef are then broken up and placed back in the pan. This is then continued on to the next recipe. This is such a versatile recipe, and so easy to prepare. I will definitely be keeping it in my recipe box!
