Homemade Nuts Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup shortening

1/3 cup milk

1 cup water

10 cups rolled oats

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease 10 muffin cups.In a large bowl, cream together the butter and shortening until light and fluffy. Add water and continue to cook until thickened. Remove 1 cup at a time.

In a small mixing bowl, stir together milk and water. Cook in a small saucepan until milk begins to thicken. Stir in melted butter or margarine, nutmeg and salt. Stir in until the mixture comes to the boil.

Pour into prepared muffin cups three amounts of this mixture into each cup of biscuits, filling each cup to within 1/2 inch of the middle. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Chill before serving.

I substituted Splenda for the sugar in a can of coconut sugar and it turned out great. No need to buy coconut milk or nut butters. I mixed my banana with Splenda and it turned out great. No need to peel the banana.
