4 cups all-purpose flour
1 egg
1 (3 ounce) package orange flavored Jell-O
1 cup boiling water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons lemon zest
3/4 cup melted butter
Mix 1 cup flour, egg, gelatin, boiling water, and vanilla into a large bowl. Stir in baking soda, lemon zest, butter, and sifted flour until blended. Pour mixture into a large metal or glass bowl or bowl with a marble lid.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
