2 cups apple - peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped pecans
Melt butter and mix in 3 cups flour. Stir in sugar and orange juice. Stir in flour/sugar mixture. Mix in vanilla; arrange pecans in a single layer in a 12x4 inch baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely. Slide sponge under foil to prevent sticking. Cool completely.
