1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 cup hot water
1 pound snow, consolidated and dried
1 quart cornflake cereal, broken up into small pieces
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon orange juice
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon butter
1 pinch kosher salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preheat the oven broiler. Warm 2 quart saucepan over medium-low heat. Fry, stirring occasionally, until sauce begins to boil. Remove from heat.
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, hot water, cereal and 1 cup nut pieces. Prepare a small batch bowl or jug with boiling water. Stirre bowl into hot water, and add kale and pecans. Stir to combine and simmer, covered, 1 hour.
