Aunt Jemima's American Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

1 onion, chopped

1 pound cornbread

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup butter

3 tablespoons white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

Directions

In a large bowl, combine onion, cornbread, eggs, milk, 1/2 cup butter, sugar, vanilla and cornstarch; mix until just smooth. Fold in cornstarch and baking soda to form a stiff dough. Roll dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle. Place on a baking sheet.

Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes.
