1 pound ground beef
1 (16 ounce) can peeled and diced tomatoes with juice
1 (16 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
1 (1/4 cup) cup ketchup
2 slices bacon
1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
Place the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown on all sides. Drain excess fat.
In a medium saucepan, mix tomatoes with juice, mushrooms, ketchup, bacon, tomato paste, salt and pepper. Stir this mixture into the meat mixture, mixing well.
Cover and simmer for 5 hours in the refrigerator.
