1/2 cup butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 cups sliced almonds
2 cups cranberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (8 ounce) pans.
Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, adding just enough to prevent burning. Mix in white sugar, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and lemon zest.
When butter is heated, stir in flour with mixer or whisk. Combine cranberry juice, almonds and almonds; slowly pour into roasting pan. Fill roasting pan with cranberry mixture. Bake in preheated oven until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 70 minutes.
