1 (8 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 cup granulated sugar
2 bananas, sliced
1/2 cup butter
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Cut the cake pieces in half, insert the cake pieces and crimp edges to seal. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix and granulated sugar. Beat in the bananas and melted butter. Beat in the boiling water and vanilla. Then beat in the brown sugar and eggs. Pour mixture into the buttered 12- cupcake mold. Pour the remaining water into the mold and pour the vanilla mixture over the top. Sprinkle with the remaining brown sugar.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. While still warm, gently allow to cool. It may be done before removing from pan.
