1 (1 ounce) square unsalted buttery round crackers
1 cup chopped pecans
6 eggs
2 cups water
2 tablespoons flour
3 apples - peeled, cored and chopped
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon citrus zest
3 cups raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon dried lemon zest
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-in. X 9-in. (Once again, if you use parchment paper, make sure you remove the seeds before cracking the paper.) Break crackers into pieces and store in a large bowl.
Beat butter and pecans until light and fluffy. Stir in eggs and water. Beat in flour; beat in rose water and lemon zest.
Pour into a 9-in. X 9 inch square baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
