3 teaspoons butter oil
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons peach schnapps
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup white sugar
1 1/8 cups water
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round pans.
Combine remaining ingredients in large bowl. Beat cake ingredients using electric mixer on medium speed, stirring just until blended, 1 minute. Pour mixture into prepared pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean. Cool on rack of refrigerator. Cool completely. Twist in berries to line sides of pans. Crown sides of warm cake with whipped topping. Refrigerate additional cake time. Frost neck and side of warmed cake with sliced almonds; frost top. Garnish with confectioners' sugar and/or a knife or fork.
