1 medium head cabbage, trimmed
1 medium carrot, peeled and cut into small rounded pieces
2/3 cup Italian-style dressing
4 large red potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
3 ounces sharp processed cheese food
Place cabbage, carrot, and potatoes in a large pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer 15 minutes. Drain, cool, and crush.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together the Italian-style dressing and cooked cabbage. Set aside.
Stir the red potatoes, green pepper, onion, cheese, and cooked cabbage mixture. Mix well, and transfer to the pot. Cover, and simmer 30 minutes. Stirring occasionally, cook 10 minutes more. Serve mixture over hot cooked rice and peas.
