Pan-Shrimp Verde II Recipe

Ingredients

2 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 medium onions, peeled and sliced

1 medium red onion, peeled and sliced

2 medium black olives, peeled and sliced

6 leaves lettuce

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon white sugar

2 teaspoons turmeric

1/2 teaspoon Italian-style seasoning

1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka

Directions

Cut off the stem ends of a large orange-shaped piece of butterflied citrus, such as citrus maraschino cherries. Place orange peel and 3/4 cup juice into a small bowl. Mix together. Spread jellied orange juice over shrimp pieces, placing just outside of lid.

Season shrimp with olive oil, sugar, turmeric, Italian-style seasoning, and vodka. Fill shrimp with orange juice. Cover, and refrigerate in the refrigerator 15 minutes, or until slightly firm.

Slice shrimp and serve hot off the grill with wire racks.
