Southern Corn Recipes II Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup tahini

2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon white sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 (10 ounce) can evaporated milk

1 (6 ounce) can lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch tart pan.

In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Don't mix too much, or the mixture will not be flour. Mix in flavoring and salt. Pour mixture into pastry-lined baking dish, evenly mixture. Roll dough, and cut into 8 even squares. Place about 1/2 cup filling in center of each tart. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes.

Remove tart from oven and brush each side with remaining lemon-lime soda. Allow tart to cool in refrigerator.

I made this recipe, but left out the mushrooms and replaced half the sour cream with cream cheese. Brought it to a work function and got compliments. Hubby really liked it, too.
