1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1/4 cup barley flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 eggs
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prick one half of the pastry edges. Cut pastry into 1 inch slices. Sprinkle bread crumbs over pastry to make a pat. Place over greased baking sheet and down side down. Brush with 3 tablespoons lemon juice to prevent sticking. Brush with remaining lemon juice.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with egg white before serving. Serve warm.
