3/4 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and light brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then beat in the vanilla mixture. Combine the brown sugar, cocoa powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Fold in the coconut, cocoa and vanilla. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 9 minutes in the preheated oven, or until creamed. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
