Spinach Tart Recipe

Ingredients

1 packet frozen starter

2 cups milk

3 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons white sugar

1 egg

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped spinach

1 and 1/2 cups crushed tomatoes

Directions

In a medium skillet, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Stir in sugar and egg. Bring to a complete golden brown. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract; let cool slightly.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Shape mixture into tart shells. Place tart shell in a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Allow tart to cool. Grill tart in oven for 5 minutes, turning over tart. Garnish with spinach.

Defense with shells of ricotta cheese and butter. Serve warm or cold to accompany dishes.
