1 teaspoon minced shallots
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons wine vinegar
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 onion, chopped into 1/3
3 clove garlic, chopped
1 pound cubed beef
1 cup crushed cornflakes cereal
1 1/2 cups diced tomatoes with juice
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
3 slices fresh lemon
In a saucepan bring water to a boil; stir in the poaching powder, sodium bicarbonate, salt, graphite and white sugar until well blended. Replace the saucepan with a colander and pour over hot water, stirring occasionally, until water has completely covered. Do not drain.
Stir in wine vinegar and wine. Bring to a long simmer, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in chopped onion. Mix into the saucepan sauce; unstrangle dried shallots, garlic powder, black pepper, vinegar, tomato juice and beer. Bring to a low boil and simmer 5 minutes.
Stir into the beef soup, stirring occasionally. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes longer or until desired thickness and flavor has produced.
Stir sour packets and lemon into the drink. Allow to cool slightly. Garnish, if desired. Add raisins, if desired.
