1 pound ham, chopped
1/2 cup butter
1 small onion, chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
1 medium red bell pepper, chopped

1 (8 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 cup granulated sugar
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
1 teaspoon dried parsley
4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Place ham and onion in a large mixing bowl, and add the butter, mushrooms, sugar, bell pepper, red pepper, tomato, and butter. Mix together; drain excess fat.
Place ham mixture in a large mixing bowl. Mix together butter and mushrooms. Pour mixture over ham mixture.
Cover pan with foil. Bake in preheated oven until bread is lightly browned, about 1 hour. Remove foil and cool on rack.
While bread is warming, stir together cream cheese and onion. Remove foil from pan, and place cream cheese and onion mixture over bread. Allow to cool completely, about 1 hour.
Meanwhile, melt the shredded mozzarella cheese in a small saucepan until slightly melted. Stir cream cheese mixture into mozzarella cheese mixture. Place over hot baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven until cheese is golden, about 25 minutes. Garnish with parsley.
I really enjoyed this meal! Simple but tasty. Serve it with crusty Italian bread and we ate it like family.
