Anise Oil Bake Recipe

Ingredients

1 (3 ounce) package Anise Oat Cake Mix

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 cup white sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup milk

1 egg

3 tablespoons Anise oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup sliced almonds

1 1/2 cups flaked coconut

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.

In a large bowl, mix the 1 cup cake mix, 4 tablespoons vegetable oil, sugar, egg, Anise oil, and vanilla extract. Mix very well. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 20 minutes, then remove from pan and let cool completely.

To make the Anise Oil Crust: In a small saucepan, heat the 1 1 cup cake mix mixture to between 234 and 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped onto the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat and stir in the Anise oil, or to desired consistency.

To make the Anise Cake: In a large bowl, beat the 1 cup cake mix, 2 tablespoons butter, almonds, coconut and chopped coconut until smooth. Using an electric mixer, beat with a dough hook until crumbly. Press mixture into bottom of 9 inch pie pan. Chill in refrigerator for 2 hours before frosting. Frost with whipped topping and chopped coconut.
