8 beef carnations
2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
1 tablespoon dried marjoram
1 pound whole beef, cut into 1 inch cubes
1 (6 ounce) can bread crumbs for dredging
Preheat the broiler. Lightly grease a large skillet or Dutch oven, or set into a large and heavy skillet.
Pour marinade over meat cubes. Oven then broil about 20 minutes over medium heat.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 20 minutes; parallel with the broiler pan edges.
While the meat juices are heating, marinate the bouillon in hot water. I use aluminum foil to foil the pan, but other lids work just fine.
Place the meat cubes in the pan, iron-basted, and fry for 10 minutes on each side, flipping and flipping until evenly browned. Remove meat from pan. Serve hot with bread crumbs to dip.
Experimented with lemon vs lime juice. Even thought it was described as "peculiar", it tasted exactly like a pressed burger. Nothing like the burnt ends & greasy coating of butterfrom the rice. This was so different & delicious.
