Slow Cooker French Toast Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup milk

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 onion, chopped

2 eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dried sage

1 teaspoon coarse salt

1 teaspoon paprika

1 inch thick sliced Swiss cheese

Directions

In a saucepan, heat milk, oil, onion, eggs and vanilla extract in microwave oven for about 10 minutes.

In a slow cooker, heat oil, eggs, vanilla and nutmeg in microwave oven for about 10 minutes. Mix in oregano, basil, paprika, sage and salt and pepper. Cook on medium high for 3 to 4 hours.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix shredded Swiss cheese, egg whites, salt and pepper until smooth. Place mixture in slow cooker along with milk mixture. Stir gently and allow to simmer for 2 hours. Garnish with Swiss cheese. Serve warm or cold.

Well this is the best bread pudding I have made. My family went back for seconds. I had to make some alterations. Eggnog is not in season right now, so I used instead 8oz of heavy whipping creme and up the rum to 1/3 cup. I originally used Unsalted Rail Bread but after reading the reviews I determined that this was best. Overcome the popular belief that bread pudding is bast....
