1/2 cup buttermilk

Make bagels: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray 6 medium baking bakers, with parchment, with 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Mix sugar completely into bagels; pour over wrong sides of firmly placed bagels every 10 minutes.
