Baked Ham Recipe

Ingredients

12 strips bacon

6 slices Swiss cheese

4 slices ham

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

salt and pepper to taste

2 eggs, beaten

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans.

Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Remove bacon but keep warm. Drain grease from skillet. Reserve 1 tablespoon grease in skillet. Slice ham slices to serve.

Heat bacon grease evenly in skillet. Cook over medium heat until evenly brown. Drain grease. Stir in Swiss cheese, ham, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring. Reserve bacon grease.

Spread half of bacon grease over ham. Layer half of cheese, ham, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper on top of the grease. Spread remaining grease over ham layer.

Bake ham in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove slab from oven and sprinkle top with Cheddar cheese. Bake an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and cheese is golden brown. Remove ham from oven and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Repeat with remaining ham slices and cheese. Repeat with ham and bacon. Remove pan from oven and grease side. Brush egg wash onto bottom of pan.

Heat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Bake ham in 375 degree F (190 degrees C) oven for 15 minutes, or until bacon is crispy. Remove bacon from casserole.
