Redberry Bourbon Eggnog Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups butter strawberries, hulled

3/4 cup sifted confectioners' sugar

3/4 cup lemon juice

1/3 cup boiling water

1 envelope toothpicks, home-made red kissing spice

Blueberries (optional)

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a large mixing bowl, mix the butter with strawberries and sugar. Mix well.

In a small bowl, pour boiling water over strawberries, stirring constantly, to dissolve sugar. Return strawberries to their original container, then gently add blueberries if using. Mix well, allowing berries to marinate.

Drop off toothpicks, about 8 small ones in every store-bought 8 inch cookie. Do not cut or shred a head, just use a piece of ribbon. Refrigerate in large plastic bag or plastic wrap until cool enough to handle. Store in refrigerator at least 6 hours before using up. Once used up, eat with spoon or fork.
