1 (18.25 ounce) package vanilla flavored cake mix
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
4 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1 tablespoon shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, flour, milk, eggs, baking powder, baking soda, and chocolate chips. Beat together. Divide the dough into 12 pieces and form into 2/3 inch balls. Roll the balls into 1 inch balls, and place them in the prepared pan. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven.
Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Remove the cookie sheets from the oven and place on a wire rack. Allow cookies to cool on the rack for a few hours before removing to cool completely.
