1/3 cup butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round pans.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, vanilla, oil and sugar until smooth. Beat in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt; stir onto the creamed mixture alternately with pecans. Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the spring comes out clean. Allow to cool. Cut into squares.
