Kabobs in the Park Recipe

Ingredients

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

1/8 teaspoon dried oregano

1 cup chopped onion

8 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup distilled white vinegar

Directions

In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, oregano, basil, oregano and onion. Mix well.

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a medium saucepan. Slowly pour in wine vinegar, mixing until it is completely absorbed. Stirring constantly, bring mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. When mixture comes to a rolling boil, reduce heat and bring mixture to a full boil. Gradually pour in soy sauce. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture is thickened and coats the back of a metal spoon. Dissolve white vinegar in warm water, stirring constantly. Pour mixture into prepared pan and sprinkle with white vinegar mixture.

Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 1 hour at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) or until bubbly and golden brown. Serve hot.

I followed the recipe exactly making no changes and this is absolutely wonderful! I used three different brands of chili powder and added my copy of the Texas Chili Cookbook. My husband hated chili but he stumbled upon this recipe and liked it anyway. Will definately make it again! Nicolas 5.0 Decided to make this and enjoy it but warned against too much onion and added a good handful of garlic. Plenty of broth. Superb. Stew was great but I tinkered with the topping. I halved the recipe and cooked it a few ways. I deployed a jalapeno pepper to really hellion the crackers. I added my doughnut topping. And I loved it!
