Szechuan Chili Recipe


4 slices bacon, chopped

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon curry powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried sage

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon dried chili pepper

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil jalapeno pepper

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

2 teaspoons black pepper


Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium heat until crisp. Drain on paper towels.

Squeeze garlic powder and saute in a large pot over medium heat until golden. Remove bacon from skillet and place the cooked bacon strips in another skillet. Cook the sauteed garlic powder and curry powder over medium heat, stirring frequently, until fragrant.

Add chili powder, chili powder, sage, salt, chili pepper, oregano, basil jalapeno, basil jalapeno, black pepper and chili powder mixture. Stir well. Reduce heat to medium, and simmer about 10 minutes.

I changed the recipe to make it more suitable for my family. My husband loved it but my youngest thought it was a bit much. I was successful and he asked for it again some months later. I have never made lasagne without cooking the noodles first. This was perfect. Quick and easy.
