Creme de Caramel Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar

2 tablespoons white sugar

1 teaspoon lemon juice

6 tablespoons margarine

2 teaspoons honey

1 pinch salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice

2 tablespoons beef teriyaki sauce

Directions

In a small saucepan, whisk together the vinegar, sugar, lemon juice, margarine, honey, salt, vanilla and almond extracts. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Whisk in the apple pie spice, apple steak seasoning and beef teriyaki sauce.

I made this as a sauce for stir fried veggies over rice. I followed the recipe to the letter and it was a little too runny for this meal, so I added 2 tablespoons of corn starch slurry to thicken the sauce. Then I let it simmer for about 8 extra minutes and the consistency was perfect. I will make this again.
