Vegetarian Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients

6 teaspoons olive oil

4 ounces prosciutto

1 large onion, diced

1 medium carrot, diced

4 cups sliced bread, cubed

8 slices American cheese

2 tablespoons Italian seasoning

Directions

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, prosciutto, onion, carrot, bread and cheese until well blended. Place mixture in a large bowl. Form the mixture into a 10x12 inch rectangle. Spread the olive mixture on the sandwich and place on the center of the five remaining slices of bread.

Cover sandwich area with tomato sauce and chill overnight.

In the morning, preheat grill to medium high heat. Brush with grated Parmesan cheese and arrange 3 slices of American cheese on one slice of bread. Switch slices, placing on separate plates. Brush with Italian seasoning.

Turn sandwich over on rack of grill until fully uncovered. Grill remaining sandwich for about 20 minutes, flipping once as desired.
