1 (55 ounce) can sliced peaches
3 3/4 cups margarine
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
9 ounce lemon cake mix
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
In a medium bowl, cream together margarine, salt and sugar until smooth. Beat in lemon cake mix. Stir in flour and baking powder. The mixture should be fairly stiff, so beat gently. Divide the batter between the 8 paper treadmills and weave the strips around one another. Roll the filling into a 1 inch balls. Place the balls in to pans. Place them into the greased and flour lined 12x8 inch pans. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
