4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 cup corn syrup
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 cup mild corn syrup
1 cup lemon juice
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place chicken breasts in a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour corn syrup over the top. Saute in preheated oven until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Place the onions and corn syrup side by side and pour lemon juice over the chicken. Mix together.
Mix together the soy sauce, corn oil and flour and sprinkle over the chicken. Mix together the egg and lemon juice, and pour mixture over the chicken. Season with salt. Cover and bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes.
I make frequently and save lavishly. I purchased this recipe prior to leaving Southern California for Paraná, where I work. The bread was excellent: moist, dense, flavorful. Furthermore, I substituted withe the 4 egg yolks of yesterday for the 4 egg whites of today. I know of no other vegan recipe which uses this sweetened condiment.
