Beef burger with vegetables in a Dutch oven Recipe

Ingredients

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

1 pound lean ground beef

1/2 onion, chopped

1 cup chopped green bell pepper

1/4 cup chopped mushrooms

1 cup chopped celery

1 cup chopped carrots

1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

1 cup chopped tomatoes

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon dry mustard

1 cup scallions, cut in 1 inch cubes

2 tablespoons allspice

1 tablespoon dried rosemary

1/4 teaspoon dried sage

1/8 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Directions

Heat vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Heat the mushrooms, bell pepper and celery in oil until browned and fragrant. Stir in the carrots, celery, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, dry mustard, scallions and rosemary.

Stir together, and mix thoroughly. Reduce heat to low and stir in the thyme, rosemary, sage, sage, olive oil and mustard. Sprinkle mixture over fries. Fry fries, using tongs, in oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

I tried this out for my Easter Bunny and he loved it. He picked this sandwich right up off the library shelf and was asking for it again.

Fantastic! I didn't have any chicken stock, I used a couple cups of store brought Beef Burgundy Jack cheese. I also used Garlic & Herb Tomatoe sauce in place of the mayonnaise. The beef really stood out and turned out great! I will definitely make this again.

Created this for a Christmas dinner, and it turned out absolutely fabulous. I used onion, garlic, mushrooms, mayonnaise, and instead of ranch I used Happy Ranch. I didn't have bread, but I had to make homemade tomato sauce. Even with none of the vegetables, the beef was by no means over cooked, and the flavors were incredibly good. My boyfriend said nothing, but when I asked what he would like to eat next time, I got confetti and sugar for breakfast. If I made again, I would simply dice the onion and run it through the food mill, since the roll was so soft, and then to be continued...hooray for healthy cooking! Sorry, I can't vouch for the tomato, might've been a fluke. Thanks, Denise!
