Cinnamon Raisin Pie II Recipe

Ingredients

3 tablespoons butter

1 cup apple pie filling, cooled

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 cup milk

1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

1/2 cup raisins

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, apple pie filling, vanilla, cornstarch, lemon zest and milk. Stir in the raisins. Pour mixture into crust.

Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until center is almost set. Cool completely. Serve hot in a microwave oven or in a casserole dish.

I followed the recipe exactly, all measurements were correct, except for the amount of sugar-- I used 2 extra bags of unsweetened applesauce and put into the batter. I did measure out the flour by hand, or by spoonful. The dough temperature wasn't quite right, so I dipped the loaves in cold water first and then in some sugar-- it seemed to work very well. Our family LOVES them, and I doubt we will make them again-- Insane amount of sweetness!
