Cherry Whip Cake Recipe

Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking soda/powder mix

1/2 cup milk

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 (12 ounce) can cherry pie filling

1/3 cup orange juice

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.

In a large bowl, mix flour and sugar. Beat in the baking powder, baking soda and baking soda; stir until evenly blended. Add 1/2 cup of lemon juice and vanilla extract; stir until combined.

Pour batter into prepared 9x5 inch pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting. Fold the whipped cream into the frosting while it's still in the plastic wrap before putting on the refrigerator. Using a wooden spoon, slowly pour orange juice onto top of cake while sliding it around.

I ended up making a dozen of these, storing them in a ziplock bag, and then throwing them in the refrigerator to defrost, before trying them for the first time. There were some differences, of
