Vegetable Noodles Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup shortening

2 cups white sugar

4 cups high protein wheat flour

1 egg

1/2 cup water

2 1/3 cups vegetable oil for showing

1/2 cup buttermilk

2 cups rolled oats

1/3 cup wheat germ

2/3 cup coarse salt

1/2 cup water

8 x 8 inches baking sheet

2 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows

1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, stir together the shortening, sugar, wheat flour and egg. Whip the warm milk and salt into the mixture until well blended. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared dish.

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and 2/3 cup water with 1/2 cup oil. Stir together the cereal, oats, 2/3 cup rolled oats and butter until all the ingredients are well blended. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the finished dish, leaving about 10 inches of dough on the pan.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out lightly browned.

Remove paper from baking sheets and sprinkle the marshmallows over the bottom of the bake sheet.

Cool. Turn square and let cool completely before cutting.
