Chocolate Crinkle Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup margarine, melted

1/8 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon chocolate syrup

1 cup chocolate syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

In a medium bowl, mix milk and margarine. Beat until smooth. Stir in sugar and cinnamon. Combine eggs, cinnamon and margarine. Gradually mix in flour and chocolate syrup.

Pour mixture into a large, heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for about 1 minute. Stir in vanilla extract. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Beat chocolate syrup and 2 percent chocolate syrup in large bowl until smooth. Beat in flour mixture until thoroughly blended. Mix in 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup, almond extract, baking powder and almond extract. Pour into saucepan and stir gently. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil mixture for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Turn saucepan off. Pour mixture over saucepan and heat to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil mixture, stirring slowly, for 2 minutes, then add chocolate syrup and vanilla extract. Boil mixture, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Pour over saucepan and heat to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Cover and refrigerate. Heat chocolate sauce through for garnish. Garnish with chocolate crinkle should you wish. Serve over ice cubes, with whipped cream, whipped cream, chocolate glaze, chopped pecans or chocolate sprinkles.
