1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup lemon juice
1 cup water
3 egg whites
1/2 cup margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped chives
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round pans.
In a saucepan, combine apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, water, egg whites, margarine, and vanilla extract. Bring mixture to a boil and boil for 2 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix chives and sugar. Stir over medium heat until mixture coats the back of a metal spoon. Pour over each cake.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of each cake comes out clean. Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before unwrapping.
