2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon strawberry preserves
1 (9 inch) prepared chocolate cookie crumb crust
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, stir together eggs, baking soda, vanilla extract and butter until well blended. Make a well in the center, and pour in sugar and milk. Beat gently with an electric mixer. Fold in Strawberry preserves, followed by chocolate chips. Spoon batter into prepared pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely on wire rack, and cool completely with cheese cloth.
