Frozen Gelatin Frosting Recipe
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup white sugar
7 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 tablespoons butter, softened
In a large bowl, combine 8 egg whites, 1/2 teaspoon cold water and vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks. In a large glass or metal mixing bowl, beat egg yolks until fairly stiff. Whisk 1 cup of egg whites and sugar, alternately with cream, beating well after each addition. When thoroughly combined, pour mixture over gelatin as just before mixing. Chill until set but not set, 2 hours. In serving bowl, quickly stir egg whites through sticky-softened cream, then spoon over gelatin. Garnish with chopped almonds.
