Spicy Spicy Tomato Crisp Recipe

Ingredients

1 4 cups water

3 1/2 teaspoons ketchup

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 cup vegetable oil

1 onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chopped onion

2 green bell peppers, chopped

1 teaspoon dried basil

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dried savory

1 teaspoon dried dill weed

Directions

In a medium saucepan bring water to a boil. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, basil, oregano, rosemary, vegetable oil, onion, garlic, chopped onion, bell peppers and dried basil. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low. Stir in sugar, paprika, and savory. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in dill weed. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 1 1/2 hours. Remove from heat. Let cool to room temperature.

I made this for a party, and it was a hit - I'll make it again! I omitted the tomato sauce, and it was still yummy! Followed the spices exactly, except I used a little more salt and cayenne, and I used about a teaspoon of minced garlic. I also added about a teaspoon of flour, because I had some trouble finding some... I used a little more black pepper and some dried oregano. Made the marinade, and added fresh basil and whole mints, and made the whole dish smell so good (I put it in a large bowl, covered it, and let it marinate for about 2 hours). It was so aromatic and delicious, I wanted to eat it all up! Thank you!
