2 tablespoons butter
2 1/4 cups dry bread flour
2 1/4 cups instant rice
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line with foil.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, saute butter and dry bread for about 5 minutes, or just until the edges appear slightly browned. Stir in instant rice and baking powder. In a small bowl, dissolve baking soda in 1/2 cup broth. Stir peas and lentils into mixture with bread mixture. Mix in honey, Parmesan cheese and red pepper, rosemary paprika if desired. Stir Bay leaves into mixture, if desired. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes.
