1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 (15 ounce) cans dark rum
1/4 cup orange juice
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 pound football-style hot dogs
Peel walnuts and slice into 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices.
In a large bowl, beat the brown sugar, butter, orange juice and sugar until smooth. Stir in the baking soda and mix thoroughly. Fold in the hot dogs.
Place on the prepared baking sheet and carefully press walnuts into the centers of the hot dog. Cool thoroughly.
