1/4 cup chocolaty powder
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, melt chocolate in boiling water. Remove pan from heat. Cool slowly while stirring.
In an electric mixer bowl, beat softened butter and sugar together. Beat in vanilla and milk by hand, alternately with flour. Beat in slowly, as you go along, beating each one thoroughly with your hands. Do not overmix!
Stir chocolate mixture through an electric mixer bowl, adding JUST enough of the cold water to just cover the entire surface. Mix to portion.
Pour into pastry-lined pastry sheet. Tint remaining cacao with orange juice or lime juice, if desired. Gently roll tops of pastry on frosting. Garnish with green and cherry cherries. Serve chilled.
