1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup white wine
3 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
1 pound beef stew meat
2 tablespoons shortening
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Saute wine mixture for 5 minutes. Pour in Worcestershire sauce. Continue to cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender. Sprinkle with bouillon cubes. Reduce heat to medium and add beef until browned. Stir in shortening and cornstarch.
Heat oil in large skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Pour mixture into preheated skillet and cook for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring gently. Reduce heat to medium.
Remove meat from pan; stir into saucepan. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Brown fattier side up then over medium heat for 5 minutes. Pour sauce all over beef.
